We are not anti-technology. We ask a better question: how do we keep the benefits while staying conscious of the influence, so we stay in charge of our attention, our focus, and our time?
And we believe awareness lands harder when it's felt, not lectured. So we build workshops, conversations, art sessions, and public experiences people can step inside.
Philosophy
Technology should not come at the cost of human connection. We protect creativity, patience, reflection, empathy, and real relationships, preserving human agency in a fast-changing world.

Jitendra Pratap Singh, IAS
Jitendra Pratap Singh, IAS, serves as the District Magistrate of Kanpur Nagar, where he is widely recognised for his people-centric and responsive approach to governance. A 2013 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, his administrative work reflects a strong commitment to accessibility, efficiency, and building public trust.
For us, however, his role goes far beyond his designation. Through our interactions, we encountered someone who listens with intent and understands with depth. As students, we have come to see him as a “senior doctor” of society, someone people turn to when they feel unheard, after navigating multiple systems and struggles, in the hope that they will finally be understood. What makes his approach unique is his ability to look at every situation through a 360-degree lens, focusing not just on solving problems, but on ensuring that people are actually able to reach those solutions.
His perspective is also deeply shaped by spiritual awareness. Drawing from principles such as the Madhyam Marg of Buddhism, he emphasises balance, mindfulness, and self-awareness. His reflections on human tendencies such as kama (desire), krodh (anger), moh (attachment), and lobh (greed) influence not only his personal outlook but also the way he approaches governance and human behaviour.
Within Project Homo Sapiens 2.0, his role has been foundational. He has been a guiding force and a constant source of support, helping shape the vision of the initiative at every stage. Much of what the project has grown into today stands on his encouragement, insight, and belief in its purpose. His ideas have enabled us to expand our thinking, connect our work to real-world impact, and reach communities in a more meaningful and inclusive way.
These reflections are drawn from our own conversations with him, offering a glimpse into the values that define his leadership. His unique blend of administrative strength, empathy, and thoughtful vision continues to inspire us — not just in building this project, but in understanding what responsible, human-centred leadership truly looks like.

Mr Rajesh Dandotiya — a prominent IPS officer and author whose work spans law enforcement, cybersecurity, and digital safety: cybercrime, digital arrest scams, financial fraud, and identity theft. Per information supplied, he has conducted more than 1,000 public awareness sessions on cyber hygiene and digital safety, educating students and organisations about phishing, malware, and online threats. He connected digital dependency to the practical realities of online safety.
Dr Ruchira Pahare — Consultant Paediatrician & Neonatologist with 28 years of practice. MBBS (R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur, 1989) and MD Paediatrics (1995). Assistant Professor at B.J. Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai (2003–06) and K.J. Somaiya Medical College (2006–07); Senior Consultant at Bombay Hospital, Indore (2007–Nov 2022). Areas include neonatology and neonatal critical care, paediatric infectious diseases, immunisation, and developmental & behavioural paediatrics. Her mantra: Service Before Self. She brought the paediatric view of children, development, and wellbeing.
Ms Poonam Valecha — joined as a psychologist, bringing the perspective of human behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and young people. Full qualifications and biography are editable and can be completed once supplied.
The BALANCE reflection activity
Seven chits. Each carried a discussion point on the front; the children discussed and elaborated. On the back of each was a single letter. Brought together, they spelled one word. The point was never that technology is bad, it was to help children think about how it fits into their lives, and why balance matters. Tap each chit.

Slowing down, with our hands.
A calm, creative space for children to express themselves and learn about *Delayed vs Instant Gratification*
Held at Bal Grih Government homes for POCSO Victims and Orphans, this activity gave chance to slow down, work with real materials, and take part in something not mediated by a screen. The gullak became a small symbol of reconnecting with the tangible, creativity, patience, and belonging. A gentle reminder that hands-on experiences can nurture emotional wellbeing and genuine human connection beyond the digital world.
Taking the conversation into the public square.
An interactive stall on digital alcoholism. Rather than handing out leaflets alone, visitors received informative flyers and played through activities that tested their concentration and explored instant versus delayed gratification, noticing their own patience and reward-seeking for themselves.
The stall was initiated under the idea of the District Magistrate of Kanpur, Jitendra Pratap Singh, whose encouragement has always strengthened the mission, the conversation reaching beyond schools, into the wider public.
